Book Week 2020: MS Activities

MS Book Week Expectations

  • You will enjoy having time in your English classes to work on activities of your choice.
  • Select activities according to your interest.
  • The number of Phoenix indicates how long the activity should take to complete - 1 phoenix = 15 mins; 2 phoenix = 30 mins and 3 phoenix = 45 mins.
  • Upload your work according to the instructions below and we will publish selected work on the  UNIS Hanoi social media platforms.
  • Enjoy and have fun - enjoy books and reading!

Tic Tac Toe

 

What was your favorite story when you were in Kindergarten or Grade 1?

 

Take a video or audio recording using wevideo to record this story to be shared with an ES class. 

 

Upload your video to this FOLDER for your video/audio to be published on the Book Week Site which will also be shared with elementary teachers and classes.

Create a book trailer that encourages others to read either your favorite book or a book that you have recently read.

Selection of trailers will be published to LibGuide for sharing to others.

Find one of your teachers, one of your parents or grandparents, and ask them about their favorite book.

Get their permission to record a short interview explaining the book they love, why they love it, and for whom they would recommend it.

Write a fan tweet to the author of one of your favorite books.

A selection of Tweets will be posted on the Book Week Site as well as many will be selected to be tweeted from our twitter account for the authors to celebrate!

Create a video or audio recording: What’s your favorite book you’ve read since you’ve been in Middle School? Why do you love it? To whom would you recommend it?

Choose a favorite quote from a book. Upload to our quote wall, including the quote, the name of the book and the author.

Make a collage of the covers of your favorite books.

Write a postcard to your favorite book character: what message would you send, for example, to Katniss, or Ron Weasley, Gandalf or the Very Hungry Caterpillar? You choose the character and the message.
