SDG 1 Global Issues

1. The ongoing war in Ukraine, along with rising inflation, is expected to push an additional 75-95 million people into extreme poverty in 2022 compared to pre-pandemic projections.

2. Child labor is a growing concern in China, with about 7.74% of children between the ages of 10-15 engaged in labor, even though the legal working age in China is 16. This is due to the high poverty rate in China.

3. In South Africa, the education system is characterized by stark inequalities, with schools serving poor, predominantly Black communities often having poor infrastructure, overcrowded classrooms, and lacking basic facilities

What Actions can you take?

1. Find a charity you want to support. Any donation, big or small, can make a difference!

2. Support campaigns collecting items for victims of emergencies. Donate your clothes, food supplies etc. to support those in need.

3. Lend your voice to the fight against extreme poverty.
