SDG 12 Global Issues

1. United States: The U.S. has one of the highest material footprints per capita, consuming resources at a rate that would require approximately five Earths to sustain if replicated globally.

2. India: Rapid economic growth has led to increased resource extraction, resulting in severe air and water pollution. The country struggles with balancing industrial growth and sustainable resource management.

3. Brazil: In Brazil, about 41% of food produced is wasted, primarily due to inefficiencies in the supply chain and consumer behavior. Efforts are being made to address this through awareness campaigns and improved logistics.

What Actions can you take?

1. Be conscious of packaging – the less the better!

2. Buy second-hand whenever you can.

3. Shop, eat and drink locally. Supporting neighborhood businesses keeps people employed and circulates money back into your community.
